EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Here is a handy guide of frequently asked question to ensure you have all the information you need to have the best festival experience possible!

 

ON THE DAY

WHAT TIME DOES THE FESTIVAL START AND FINISH

Festival Gates open at 11:30am. The event is expected to finish at 10.30pm and Festival Gates will close at 11.30pm. Gates close at midnight (subject to change).  Entrance to the festival arena will not be permitted until 11:30am. 

CAN I STILL BUY A TICKET ON THE DAY?

Unfortunately Saturdays event on June 22nd has sold out but tickets are still available for Sundays show on June 23rd. Tickets can be purchased via Skiddle

TOKEN ONLY SITE, FOOD, DRINKS & RIDES

To streamline the drink service and eliminate cash transactions at the bar, we implement a drink token system at all our festivals. Tokens can be purchased at token desks situated throughout the venue.

Our tokens are available in denominations of £2, £3, £5, and £6. Please note that tokens are non-refundable, so only buy what you plan to use, as they are valid solely for the event you’re attending.

Tokens can be bought with either cash or card and can be exchanged for drinks at the bar, food with vendors, and at children’s attractions.

IS THERE CAR PARKING AT THE ILKESTON MUSIC FESTIVAL?

If you are driving to the event there is event car parking opposite the site.  The car park entrance is off located at Booths playing fields, Awsworth Rd, which is located directly opposite the festival site. Event car parking will open at 11am and close at midnight. Cars cannot be left overnight.

Event car parking will be charged at £5 per car.

Disabled car parking is available near the site. Please contact a steward near the site entrance to arrange blue badge holders parking.

Local buses and trains will be providing a frequent bus & train services making it the easiest way to get to and from the festival.

WHERE ARE THERE TOILETS LOCATED THROUGHOUT THE FESTIVAL?

There will be multiple toilet stations located throughout the festival, which you will be able to find located on the site map.

We recommend not joining the first queue you see to avoid long waiting times, as there will be plenty located throughout the festival site for you to use.

WHERE CAN I FILL UP MY WATER AT THE FESTIVAL?

It is important whatever the weather, to stay hydrated. We have free drinking waterpoints on site at The Ilkeston Music Festival. Free tap water will be available at all the bars.

You can bring water into the festival in SEALED bottles under 1L, otherwise we recommend bringing an empty bottle (not glass) to fill up throughout the day.

WHICH ENTRANCE DO WE USE ON THE DAY?

The Main pedestrian entry gate is the Awsworth Rd entrance. Stewards will be wearing high visible vests to assist with directions.

WHAT IS AND ISN’T ALLOWED ON SITE?

Feel free to bring with you:

  • Small foldable chairs (Allowed within designated zones only. You may be asked to move if space becomes limited)
  • Compact umbrellas and small sun shades for children
  • Blankets (Allowed within designated zones only. You may be asked to move if space becomes limited)
  • SEALED water in plastic bottles under a litre in size
  • Snacks for toddlers and food for kids with food allergies 

Please don’t bring on site:

  • Cans of soft drinks
  • Picnic food
  • Alcohol
  • Glass bottles
  • Pets
  • Cameras and photography equipment that have detachable lenses
  • Knives
  • Recreational Drugs and Legal Highs
  • Bicycles
  • Fire making kits
  • BBQs
  • Gazebos
  • Pop-up tents
  • Large umbrellas
  • Any other items deemed to cause an obstruction.

Note: restricted items CANNOT be stored at the gate for collection later

ARE WE ALLOWED TO LEAVE AND COME BACK IN?

No, if you leave the site you will not be allowed to return.  If you have a medical emergency, childcare, feed or let your pets out or similar issue, explain your situation to a gate supervisor who can issue a temporary pass out. 

CAN I SMOKE INSIDE THE FOOTBALL GROUND?

Smoking inside the football ground is not permitted. Vapes are allowed but anyone wishing to smoke a cigarette must do in the car park located near the entrance to the Festival site.

WHAT MEASURES ARE IN PLACE FOR CHILDREN / VULNERABLE ADULTS?

All children aged 0-10 will be issued with a wristband. We ask that you write a mobile number of a parent or guardian at the festival to contact if they are separated and a code word only you and your child will know on the inside of the wristband.

Children aged 11 and over and vulnerable adults can also pick up a wristband at the lost children stall inside the festival site to write contact details on as above, these can be used in the event they are separated from their parents/guardians.

On the day we will have our Ilkeston Squad, Welfare Officer and Security staff who will be able to help you if you need assistance.

ACCESSIBILITY

WHERE IS BLUE BADGE & ACCESSIBLE PARKING LOCATED?

Near the festival site entrance, Blue Badge parking is available on Awsworth Road. For assistance upon your arrival, please contact a steward wearing a high-visibility vest. The steward will help you find a parking spot.

I'VE LOST AN ITEM AT THE ILKESTON MUSIC FESTIVAL, WHAT DO I DO?

If you have lost something, please email info@ilkestonmusicfestival.co.uk with a description of your item and someone will get back to you to arrange collection if we have it.
